Sessions & Fees.

"Whatever you can do or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now."

- Goethe

I offer individual, 50 minute therapy sessions for £50 (UK) or R$300 (Brazil). I am also committed to making therapy accessible to those on a low income and have reduced-fee slots available for this.

You may like to think of our first meeting as a form of mutual assessment, giving us both a chance to see if we’re a good fit. If needed, I can refer you to other services or professionals. I also offer a free 25-minute call to discuss your goals before committing to your first session.

Confidentiality

Your privacy is my priority. All sessions are confidential, and I will only discuss details with my supervisor, bound by professional confidentiality. Exceptions are made only in cases of immediate risk to you or others, or if required by law (in consultation with you whenever possible).

FAQs

What’s the difference between counselling, psychotherapy and coaching?

Understanding the distinctions between counselling, psychotherapy, and coaching can help you decide which approach best suits your needs.

Counselling

  • Focus: Counselling often addresses specific challenges or life events, such as grief, relationship difficulties, stress, or career decisions.

  • Approach: It tends to be short-term and solution-focused, helping you develop coping strategies and gain clarity on immediate concerns.

  • Goal: To provide support, guidance, and tools for navigating particular situations or emotions effectively.

Psychotherapy

  • Focus: Psychotherapy delves deeper into emotional and psychological patterns, exploring the root causes of long-standing issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, or identity challenges.

  • Approach: This process is typically longer-term, focusing on personal growth, self-awareness, and emotional healing. It often explores past experiences to understand their impact on your current life.

  • Goal: To foster lasting change by addressing underlying issues and promoting overall mental well-being.

Coaching

  • Focus: Coaching is future-oriented and aims to help you set and achieve specific personal, professional, or developmental goals.

  • Approach: It is action-driven and emphasises practical strategies, accountability, and motivation to create measurable progress.

  • Goal: To empower you to unlock potential, improve performance, and achieve targeted outcomes.

While counselling, psychotherapy, and coaching have distinct focuses, they often overlap in practice. For example, all three aim to support your well-being and help you navigate challenges, whether immediate or long-term. As your therapist I might integrate coaching techniques, such as goal-setting and accountability, into counselling or psychotherapy.

Ultimately, these approaches share a common goal: to empower you to lead a more fulfilling, balanced, and authentic life. The key difference lies in the depth of exploration and the tools used, but they can complement one another to meet your unique needs.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy can be beneficial for anyone seeking support, personal growth, or clarity in their life. Consider therapy if:

  • You’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck.

  • You’re navigating a life transition, relationship challenge, or loss.

  • You’ve noticed patterns of thinking or behaviour that you’d like to change.

  • You’re curious about understanding yourself more deeply or want to work toward specific goals.

  • You feel isolated or like your usual coping strategies aren’t enough.

Therapy doesn’t require you to have a crisis or a diagnosed condition. It’s a space to explore your thoughts and feelings, build resilience, and develop tools for a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Some people like to think of therapy as an investment in their mental well-being, much like regular exercise is for physical health. Just as staying active supports a healthy body, therapy nurtures a healthy mind, helping you maintain emotional balance and thrive in the face of life’s challenges.

If you’re uncertain, an initial session can help you clarify whether therapy aligns with your needs and how we might work together to achieve your goals.
